Briana DeFranco (b. 1996) is a creative and dedicated photographer who brings advanced technical skills, enthusiasm and a high level of attention to every task. She is the Gold Key Award winner in Photography and completed her studies at Marymount Manhattan College in May 2019. She has established a passion for the medium of photography, central to her current and future personal and professional goals. Briana focuses on the power of human interactions and the connection of all beings to the external world.
Whether it is her iPhone, film or digital camera, Briana always carries something to capture her surroundings. Her interest in strangers and their conversations has become the core of her photographic work. Briana hopes to elevate her relationships with the people she encounters to a more meaningful level. Once someone is in front of her lens, her curiosity about their lives and the inevitable connection takes hold. Some of her images reflect brief encounters, bonding us well beyond the time spent together. Others are lasting connections, forming a long and familiar closeness. Briana is constantly seeking these observable connections that link humanity with a common core of compassion.
